The streets were covered in the years first snow storm with a layer of runners trekking through what appeared to be this season’s first Saturday morning Boston Marathon training run going through the Newton hills. Hundreds of brightly colored runners lined the carriage path on Commonwealth Ave. in Newton Ma as they logged in their miles.
This is always an exciting time of the year for me. Qualifying for the Boston marathon five times, I have always enjoyed being out there with my fellow runners, but the past two years I have had the privilege of run/marching the Boston Marathon in my Army Uniform with the Massachusetts Army National Guard. My hope is that this year's upcoming 2018 Boston Marathon will be the same. Look for me out there come Marathon Monday this spring, but for now I’ll see you Saturday mornings on Commonwealth Ave. in Newton!
