Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) is a method of stretching commonly used in corrective exercise and sports medicine settings. PNF is proven to increase range of motion (flexibility) and performance through enhancing ones biomechanics.
PNF can be done either actively by the client or passively by the specialist. There are numerous methods of performing PNF all of which have their own means of enhancing ones performance and reducing their risk of injury.
Common uses for PNF are:
· Pre-game or athletic event
· Post workout
· General Flexibility / Range of Motion development
